At North Collier Animal Clinic, we utilize a sterile surgery suite with separate ventilation, natural light, and plenty of room for our doctor and support staff to properly monitor patients while under anesthetics. All surgeries and dental cleanings performed by Dr. Ewing include anesthesia, vital sign monitoring while under anesthesia with a pulse oximeter, antiemetic injection for nausea and abdominal pain, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain injection given at the time of surgery as well as medication to go home with.
We offer laser therapy to allow for a faster healing process. Laser Therapy is a procedure that uses light to stimulate cell regeneration and increase blood circulation. Hot laser treatments affect deeper tissues allowing us the penetrate to where we need the most healing.
During recovery, our patients are constantly monitored by a Veterinary Technician and are only sent home once they have fully recovered from anesthesia and have been examined by Dr. Ewing. We utilize heating pads and fluffy blankets to provide comfort for our patients and to assist them in maintaining their body temperature during recovery.
